Abuse Resources

Arapahoe County Child and Adult Protection Services
Our crisis hotline remains open, and reports of potential abuse and neglect to children and at-risk adults will continue to be received with no disruption. Please report potential child abuse or neglect by calling 303-636-1750 or 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437).

Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline
Call the 24/7 hotline at 844-CO-4-KIDS for help or to report a concern.

National Domestic Violence Hotline
Call the hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for free, 24-hour help.

Emergency Child Care Collaborative 
All essential workers have the opportunity to get free child care through the Colorado Department of Human Services.

Arapahoe County Child Support Services
View a list of contact numbers for the Child Support Services being supported by Human Services during COVID-19. Includes child care assistance and help with all aspects of Child Support (payments, custody, visitation, hearings, etc.).

Do you have questions about the COVID-19 pandemic? Do not call 911. Call 211 or visit the website. This service will help answer your questions and assist with helping you find essential services (childcare, food, financial, etc.).

Arapahoe County Community Support Services

Colorado Department of Labor and Unemployment
File an unemployment claim. Because of the high volume of claims, we are asking that you help us help you and our greater community.

  • If you need to file an unemployment claim and your last name begins with the letter A - M, file a claim on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, or after 12 noon on Saturday.
  • If you need to file an unemployment claim and your last name begins with the letter N - Z, file a claim on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or before 12 noon on Saturday.

Colorado Health Emergency Paid Sick Leave 
Temporarily requires employers in certain industries to provide a small amount of paid sick leave to employees with flu-like symptoms who are being tested for coronavirus COVID-19.

Grocery shopping and prescription pick-up assistance is available for seniors 60+ and those with disability. To learn about eligibility and sign up, call and leave a message. A staff person will return your call as soon as possible. Other senior services, such as transportation, adult protection, and veterans assistance are also available.

To help protect our most vulnerable residents, the following Colorado retailers have announced special hours for seniors to use their stores. Please call your local outlet to confirm the times.

  • Safeway – Tuesday and Thursday, 7 a.m. – 9 a.m.
  • Target – First hour every Wednesday
  • King Soopers – Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 7 a.m. – 8 a.m.
  • Dollar General – First hour every day
  • Whole Foods – One hour before opening every day
  • Walmart – Opens one hour early on Tuesdays
