Dear Vaughn Families,
Welcome to an exciting new school year! I hope you have all had a wonderful, restful summer filled with sunshine and quality family time. Having served the Aurora Public Schools community for the past 21 years-and spending the last 8 years right here as your Assistant Principal-it is an absolute honor to step into the role of your New Principal. Vaughn is a truly special place, and I am thrilled to continue serving this amazing community. I have missed our students deeply and cannot wait to see their bright, smiling faces fill our hallways once again!
Welcoming Our New Assistant Principal
I am overjoyed to introduce our new Assistant Principal, Jody Vanderhamm! She brings 24 years of dedicated service to Aurora Public Schools. Over her career, she has served as a classroom teacher, Teacher Leader, CLDE Consultant, and most recently, a CLDE Instructional Coordinator. Her vast experience and passion for student success make her an incredible addition to our leadership team and community!
Important Changes to Our Daily Schedule
Please make a note of our updated school hours for the upcoming school year:
- 7:25 AM - Student Drop-Off & Breakfast Begin: Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria starting at 7:25 AM.
- Note: If your child plans to eat breakfast at school, please ensure they arrive before 7:35 AM.
- 2:30 PM - School Dismissal: The school day ends at 2:30 PM.
If you need child care assistance outside of school hours, the YMCA will be offering before- and after-school programs on-site.
Meet-the-Teacher Night!
We can't wait to see you in person! Please join us for our 1st-5th Grade Meet the-Teacher Night on August, 5th from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
- Arrival Note: We will end promptly at 5:00 PM, so please arrive no later than 4:45 PM.
Teachers will collect your child's school supplies so they don't have to carry heavy backpacks on the first day of school! Learn exactly where your child should go after eating breakfast so day one is smooth and stress-free.
We are going to have an incredible school year full of learning, growth, and fun. Thank you for your continued partnership and trust. Enjoy the final days of summer, and we will see you very soon!
