I am excited to have joined Vaughn Elementary this New Year and have been enjoying getting to know your child! I am in my 19th year in education, six of which included teaching in Preschool through First Grade in traditional and Montessori classrooms. I attended Colorado State University for my undergraduate degree, Regis University for my Masters Degree in Education and Elementary K-6 licensure, and Montessori Education Center of the Rockies for my Primary Level American Montessori Society certification. I am also a Reading Specialist and have spent a third of my career teaching reading all day, every day, to hundreds of students through 6th grade. I love art and science, and recently, I even enjoyed teaching science to 100 3rd grade students! I hope to use my experience to help your student to grow his/her love for learning in all subject areas. I have seen so much success and amazing growth in young children, such as yours and can't wait to see him or her grow to love reading as he/she becomes a confident reader. Thank you for entrusting us with your child and for your patience as we all adjust and get to know one another. Besides children, I love decorating, shopping, dogs, and especially my toy poodle, Chip, anything glittery, oh, and of course the Broncos! You may reach out via email should you need.
